5 STAGES OF PLOT

Exposition

Sets the stage for the story. Characters are introduced and the setting is described.

Rising Action

The plot "thickens" as the conflict is introduced. Suspense builds.

Climax

Is the point of greatest interest or suspense in a story. Often it is also called the turning point in the story.

Falling Action

          Logical result of the climax

Resolution

 Occurs after the climax and resolves the conflict.
